“At the moment, we can not provide medication as it needed by the patient because of our strict regulation in Australia, but we think by providing netbooks as the tool for delivering the information and  reporting progress of the patients to donor or others will help also from the other side”, said Cliff Bens as the managing director of Total Coolant Management Solutions Australia during his visit to see Professor Luh Ketut Suryani in Bali.

“This is just a beginning of our compassion to help the balinese recovering from mental illness despite that Bali government use different approach seeing their people”, add Cliff after handing 4 netbook s for the volunteer to help their field work with more technology.  In the longer run, the institute has gained more help from outsider than their own government that decided only use hospital base for their intervention with the mentally ill people in Bali. As been inform by the institute that one volunteer from Australia provided by Australian Volunteer International will start to trained the Suryani’s Institute  staff for creating better program and providing better report in early September.

“We feel very moved with the work of Professor Suryani and her team to help the people with mental disorders who were abandoned by our own government for so many years”, said Age Dharmaniaga as the owner of the store after sent some of their production to Suryani Institute headquarter.

The donation for helping the mental illness finally not just come from foreigner but also by local people. “Even though our work is not fully support anymore by government, but we will do our best for our own people to feel what normal life is”, said Professor Suryani and Dr Cokorda Bagus after recieved the donation from Grindcorner Bali.

Luh Ketut Suryani, who President of the Committee Against Sexual Abuse (CASA), said that although more than a dozen foreigners were believed to be involved in the rape of young children, only eight had faced trial so far. Suryani said the local courts were mostly lenient on people who sexually abused children, “which encourages their presence in Bali”, add Suryani infront of teachers during the workshop that held by Department of Justice and Human Right in Denpasar.

Bali Governor Made Mangku Pastika has warned that as an international tourist destination, Bali was prone to attracting sexual predators and pedophiles. “They often act in the rural areas, masquerading as charitable donors for poor families,” he said.

“Spiritual Hypnosis Assisted Therapy is the easiest method to transform the traumatic memory and give the people free from their burden in an instant way”, said Professor Suryani before she hypnotize the whole group.

“SHAT has been extensively and successfully used in clinical practice in Bali for over a decade now for a variety of mental disorders, emotional distress (specifically grief and bereavement), sexual, relational, and sexual orientation problems, and posttraumatic stress disorder”, add Professor Suryani after the program. She suggested to the participants that they should use the rest of the day to relax, go to bed early without watching TV, or otherwise avoid being busy with any personal activities, and the next day resume their activities as usual. Most participants tend to leave these sessions with a serene or happy mood.

“I think what the Professor been doing for the mentally ill people in Bali is something amazing that we can not do in the West”, said Andy Forbes during the meeting at Kopi Bali House in Sanur.  He said the program should gain more support from the government and not the other way around despite the fact that Bali Governor cut the support 90 percent from their previous support.

“I will try to find a way to help solve the problem of mentally ill people in Bali as I learned so much from Professor Suryani about the situation”, add Andy after the meeting. With business expertise, a devotion to science and a passion for improving the quality of human life, is becoming Otsuka  major contributor to the pharmaceutical industry and setting standards to which others aspire. Surely the visit was just a beginning of an continuing relationship to help the others.

“The grand launch will be held on the 21 August and together with the workshop Go Through the Mother’s eyes”, said Professor Luh Ketut Suryani as the author of the book. The idea to regain the great power that is formed from the womb so that feels like a new birth of spirit that never become extinct.

“It’s our 4th books written together as a team”, said Dr Cokorda Bagus Jaya Lesmana as the co author of the book during the soft launched at the parliament house in Denpasar. The book offer a new method that from the western perspective still in dream. “We can charge ourself  using the original charger and not the fake one through this method”, add Dr Lesmana.

“We got information from our trusted source that a high number of untreated mental health patient has made Professor Suryani to go to communities and provide direct services to the patients”, said John Hunt as Indonesia Country Manager for AVI during his quick visit to Professor Luh Ketut Suryani headquater in Denpasar.

At present Prof. Suryani’s  work is financially supported from her own private practice and local and international donors. “We need an international person to help build links with local and especially international organisations and to help raise funds, promote the service and its model within Indonesian and international context. Also someone to help develop the organisations administrate capacity to meet international best practice standards”, asked Prof Suryani during the meeting.

“I felt moved to help the mental health condition in Bali after saw it in the internet”, said Dr Ashok Patel as one of 2500 psychiatrists in New Jersey, USA during his  special visit with the family to see Professor Luh Ketut Suryani. The medicines was collected from sample provided by pharmaceutical company and all of them are the newest drugs on the market. The medicines will be use in combination with individual therapy and family-based intervention.

“In one side I felt blessed that many people start to care with the condition in Bali, but in the other side I felt shamed to have a careless government”, said Suryani during the meeting at her headquater in Denpasar.

“I felt like creating a new tourist destination in Bali’, said Professor Luh Ketut Suryani dispite her sadness seeing the reality of her government doesn’t want to continue support her work in community. Her approach to mental health, which is community-based using a biopsychosociocultural (i.e. holistic) model is applied to this devastating condition. This means that mental health services are provided in normal community settings close to the population served. The symbols, values, and traditions of the community become grist for the mill in working with patients and families.

“We think the balinese must felt fortunate to have a woman that willing to give most of her life for patients cure”, said Karen as the other volunteer and promise will continues to support Suryani’s miracle work on mental health. The model that Suryani introduced has become a constructive agent of reform to transform the existing Indonesian health care system and gives new hope for a better future to the untreated mentally ill population.

For that reason, Professor Luh Ketut Suryani tried to be the mediator between taxi drivers with Bali’s governor. “I try to find the balinese way in handle a problem, not by demonstration or any destructive way, but can we sit together and talk in a peacefull way”, said Suryani during the gathering with taxi driver in Governor Office temple.

“We will do your way and there will be no more demonstration”, said Oka as the leader of the Paguyuban Jasa Wisata Bali during the meeting. The local taxi drivers made a point not to hurt any people. They consider the Blue Bird Taxi drivers just like them-  people who have a hard time feeding their families. Local taxi drivers in Bali are only upset with the company and the lack of action by the government in enforcing the law.
